Trip to Cambodia --Part 2: Kep Beach

So, Phnompenh is about a 4 hour bus ride from the beautiful beaches of south-east Asia! (we'll soon be taking our motorcycles!!) Maybe not close enough to go on a daily basis, but definitely close enough for weekend get-aways!! :D
Here is Wes with the bus driver, ever a bringer of JOY to anyone around him...we sure do love this kid!!

So, if you're praying about moving to a country, I'm not sure if doing so at a beautiful beach house is an un-biased way to do it. haha!
It's always HOT here, though, so we were so happy to have a pool as WELL as a beach at our beach house for the 4 days we were here.
LOVED IT!!!

...the ocean is in the background (the gulf of Thailand).
Hard to see in this photo, but it was SO beautiful!

Our dining room for our get-away: a sand floor under a canopy of palm trees.
(sigh...I love Cambodia!!)

South-East Asia makes AMAZING ICED COFFEE!!!!

Joey was able to spend some time writing while while we were here.
Good for you, babe!

haha, I love this photo. Wes kickin' it back in the hammock...

Family photo at "Breezes" restaurant:
an opened restaurant with a beautiful ocean view...

Wes & Joey at the pier, ready to get onto a boat to take us to an island for a day!

We fell in love with this spot! I think we'll be frequenting it in the future...
We rented a little hut on the beach to be able to stay out of the hot sun, and just camped out there for the day. The island is supposed to have GORGEOUS water falls and hiking and views, but we can't do everything in the first trip, can we? ;)

Wes taking his afternoon nap in the hammock in our hut. haha, that's the life.

Wes would NOT sit on the sand!!! It took him a while to get used to the water, too. It's not like the water was cold, either! It felt more like a bath tub since it was shallow so far out and the sun was so warm! Nica LOVED it!!

This mommy is in LOVE with these adorable baby curls that spring up in the heat and humidity!

Since we were there over Easter, we brought some Easter candy along to enjoy for baby's first Easter. Reeses Pieces in a bag to look like a carrot, and a chocolate Easter bunny!

Just like any other place, Wes makes friends wherever he goes.
We LOVE the children in this beautiful country. So precious!

Nica made some friends with these girls as we waited for our smoothies to be made.

So, as you can probably guess from these last two posts...
WE ARE MOVING TO CAMBODIA!

We feel this is a good decision for this stage of our lives. Along with his part-time work teaching at the Bible School, Joe will be finishing his Masters soon and then will go on to study for his Masters in Divinity. Nica will continue to work as Tutor Manager for HF, and we will plan to make the transition there in September! With our plans to visit all of you this summer, that gives us just a little over TWO MONTHS left in the beautiful city of Shanghai.
WOW.
Life is SO exciting when we follow after GOD!
Thanks for your continued prayers as we make this transition.
We can't wait to see you this summer!!

Joe, Nica, & Wes
